چکیده

statement of problem: adhesion to root canal dentin is one of the necessary characteristics of endodontic sealers. mta fillapex (angelus, londria, pr, brazil) is one of the recently introduced mta-based sealer. only a limited number of studies have evaluated the bonding of this sealer to the dentin, with conflicting results. objectives: the purpose of this study was to evaluate the bond strength of mta fillapex sealer) to root canal dentin compared to an epoxy resinbased sealer (ah26 sealer). materials and methods: twenty root blocks (6mm length) were acquired from the middle part of the extracted single-rooted central or lateral maxillary incisor roots and their lumens were enlarged to achieve a diameter of 1.3 mm. mta fillapex and ah26 were placed in the lumens of root blocks (n = 10). the specimens were kept in an incubator for 7 days, the roots were sectioned perpendicular to their long axis to achieve slices with thickness of 1 mm and the push-out test was carried out by a universal testing machine. results: the mean value of bond strength was 1.84 ± 0.7 mpa for ah26 and 0.19 ± 0.1 mpa for mta fillapex. the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p < 0.001). conclusions: with in the limitation of this study, ah 26 showed significantly higher bond strength in comparison to mta fillapex. statement of problem: adhesion to root canal dentin is one of thenecessary characteristics of endodontic sealers. mta fillapex (angelus, londria, pr, brazil) is one of the recently introduced mta-based sealer.only a limited number of studies have evaluated the bonding of this sealerto the dentin, with conflicting results.objectives: the purpose of this study was to evaluate the bond strengthof mta fillapex sealer) to root canal dentin compared to an epoxy resinbasedsealer (ah26 sealer).materials and methods: twenty root blocks (6mm length) were acquiredfrom the middle part of the extracted single-rooted central or lateralmaxillary incisor roots and their lumens were enlarged to achieve adiameter of 1.3 mm. mta fillapex and ah26 were placed in the lumens ofroot blocks (n = 10). the specimens were kept in an incubator for 7 days, the roots were sectioned perpendicular to their long axis to achieve sliceswith thickness of 1 mm and the push-out test was carried out by a universaltesting machine.results: the mean value of bond strength was 1.84 ± 0.7 mpa for ah26and 0.19 ± 0.1 mpa for mta fillapex. the difference between the twogroups was statistically significant (p < 0.001).conclusions: with in the limitation of this study, ah 26 showed significantlyhigher bond strength in comparison to mta fillapex.

Comparison of bond strength of different endodontic sealers to root dentin: An in vitro push-out test

AIM To compare the bond strength of four different endodontic sealers to root dentin through push-out test design. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty single-rooted teeth with completely formed apices were selected. Teeth were decoronated, and working length was determined. Instrumentation and irrigation were performed. The teeth were divided into four groups based upon the sealer used. Group 1: Bioc...

Effect of calcium hydroxide dressing on push-out bond strength of endodontic sealers to root canal dentin.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of calcium hydroxide dressing on the bond strength of three commercially available endodontic sealers (MTA Fillapex, Sealapex, and AH Plus) to root canal dentin. Sixty slices of extracted human canines were obtained from cervical, middle, and apical root thirds. Root canals were standardized and specimens were filled and divided into six g...

Bond strength of different endodontic sealers to dentin: push-out test

OBJECTIVE The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the bond strength of different root canal sealers to dentin. MATERIAL AND METHODS Forty extracted single-rooted human teeth were examined and the coronal and middle thirds of the canals were prepared with a 1.50 mm post drill (FibreKor Post System, Pentron). The teeth were allocated in two experimental groups, irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl+...

INTRODUCTION The aim of the present experimental study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of Dorifill, Epiphany and MTA-Fillapex sealers to root canal dentin in presence and absence of smear layer (SL). METHODS AND MATERIALS Sixty human single-rooted teeth were selected and divided into six groups (n=10). The canal irrigation protocol in groups 1, 3 and 5 consisted of 2.5% NaOCl durin...

Effects of different intra canal medicaments on the push out bond strength of endodontic sealers

BACKGROUND One of the essential properties of the root canal sealers is the adhesion to root canal dentin and their higher bond strength decreases the microleakage. The aim of the present study was to compare the effect of Different Intracanal medicaments on the push out bond strength of AH26 and MTA Fillapex sealers. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 104 one-rooted extracted human teeth were d...
